Need a summer sleeping bag? Read everything about summer sleeping bags for baby’s!

If you stay at home or travel with your family to a beautiful warm country: with lovely and warm weather it is not always easy for your baby to fall asleep. It is important to keep your baby cool when it is hot outside. Use therefore a summer sleeping bag to keep your baby cool during the day and night.

Airy and breathable cotton

To let your baby sleep during warm days, a summer sleeping bag is a real must-have. Because of the open structure of the cotton, the summer sleeping bag is breathable, absorbing, and soft – this reduces the chance of overheating. Your child does not get hot easily and will still feel comfortable thanks to the soft and stretchy fabric.

When do you need a summer sleeping bag?

How to know exactly what to put on your baby> Your child sleeps best at a temperature between 16 and 20 degrees. Is the temperature is between 20 and 23 degrees, a thin, airy sleeping bag summer in combination with a cotton bodysuit short sleeve is ideal. When the temperature in the room of the baby drops during the night and is around 20 degrees, you can let your baby wear a short or long sleeve bodysuit. A thin pajama underneath the summer sleeping bag is also possible.  When it is warmer than 23 degrees, you can just let your baby wear the diaper underneath the summer sleeping bag.

Pay always attention to the TOG value. How lower the TOG Value, how more heat loss. Choose on warm days for an airy summer sleeping bag with low TOG value. Read more about it in or TOG value blog

On holiday

Also, on a holiday a comfortable and safe night’s rest is essential for your baby. Pay always attention to the airco. When it is hot outside, inside it can be chilly because of the airco. Take always baby clothing with you, which you can put underneath a sleeping bag. Avoid dressing your baby too cold for sleeping.

In short, choose (depending on the temperature) for an airy summer sleeping bag where your child stays cool. No more clammy baby with wet hair, but a happy baby who is wonderfully rested.
