What is TOG?

TOG is short for Thermal Overall Grade. It indicates how warm a sleeping bag or blanket is. The higher the grade, the warmer the product. The TOG guideline is developed to prevent babies and small children from overheating.

First of all, it is important to ensure a constant room temperature between 16°C and 20°C, with 18°C as ideal temperature. In this chart you can see which maximum TOG value you can use at which temperature!

The guideline: at an average room temperature of 16°C and 20°C, a TOG value of 2.5 to 3.0 should be maintained. By making a simple calculation based on the table above, you can check whether your baby is dressed too hot or too cold. Also always make sure your baby isn’t too hot or too cold by checking the neck. Read more information about TOG values here.
