About Wool

Lodger wool is made from 100% natural merino wool. Merino wool is breathable, temperature-regulating, and perfect for sensitive baby skin. Additionally, it is self-cleaning, durable, and biodegradable. To maintain the excellent quality of wool, we recommend washing your wool items as little as possible.

Washing wool

Wool is a very delicate material that reacts to temperature changes. That’s why we recommend washing your wool products as little as possible. This helps keep them looking new for longer and is also better for the planet. Often, simply airing them out is enough.

  • Always follow the washing instructions for the specific item you want to clean. You can find these instructions on the care label or inside the item.
  • Our wool items are already pre-washed, so unlike cotton and polyester, they do not need to be washed before your baby wears them.
  • Wash wool items as little as possible.
  • For stains, gently remove them as soon as possible with a damp cloth, then spot clean by hand.
  • Bad odors? First, try airing the item outside or steaming it in your bathroom.

If you must wash your wool item, follow these instructions to minimize damage:

  • Ideally, wash wool products by hand.
  • Use lukewarm water (around 20°C) with a few drops of (organic) wool detergent.
  • Do not soak wool items in water! Rinse them with clean, lukewarm water after washing.
  • Hand washing not an option? Use your washing machine’s wool wash program (not the hand wash program!) – but at your own risk.

Drying & ironing wool

  • Let wool items air dry flat. These items cannot be tumble dried.
  • Do not wring out wool items, as this can damage the wool fibers.
  • Wool items cannot be ironed.

Additional information

Merino wool may pill over time. This is a natural process and not a sign of poor quality. Do not remove the pills as soon as they appear. Pilling will stabilize after some wear. The longer you wear a wool item, the more beautiful it becomes.
