Materials at Lodger: quality, comfort and durability
At Lodger, we are all about comfort, safety and quality. We carefully choose soft, breathable and durable materials. Thanks to our special knitting technique, the fabrics are extra supple and stretchy for optimal wearing comfort.
Cotton
Cotton is one of the most commonly used materials in our collections. By using specially fine-knitted fabrics, such as jersey, our products retain their softness, stretchability and breathability, unlike woven fabric, which becomes stiff after washing. Our soft cotton makes dressing and changing your baby easier, while the cotton fits your baby's body perfectly. We work with different types of cotton, each with unique properties:
Merino wool: naturally warm and breathable
For our baby essentials, such as slippers, we sometimes use Merino wool, one of the softest and most breathable wools. Merino wool is made of a very fine and thin wool hair, so it easily bends to your baby's skin. This ensures that Merino wool does not sting, but feels silky soft. Ideal for sensitive baby skin. Merino wool is naturally temperature-regulating, retaining warmth in cold temperatures and releasing excess heat in warmer temperatures. Moreover, it is self-cleaning, so you hardly need to wash it.

Leather: supple and soft
For extra durability, we use high-quality sheep leather, which protects and supports feet without restricting freedom of movement. The flexible sole encourages natural foot development, while the breathable properties ensure comfort in every season. What's more, sheepskin can take a beating. Perfect for those first steps.
Suede: sturdy and flexible
Our first walking shoes are made of supple suede, which moulds perfectly to little feet. This breathable material prevents overheating and offers natural grip, ideal for first steps.
Fleece: extra soft and warm
For an extra cosy and warm feeling, we use (teddy) fleece fabric. This soft, practical fabric is often used as a lining in our footmuffs and wrap blankets, keeping your baby wonderfully warm. Fleece is super soft to the touch and adds extra comfort. Moreover, fleece does not pile, even after washing. This material is easy to wash and dries in no time.

Taslon: wind and water repellent
For our outdoor products, such as footmuffs and outdoor suits, we often use Taslon. This is a sturdy, wind- and water-repellent fabric that is perfect for protection against cold and rain. Despite its robust properties, Taslon is lightweight and breathable, keeping your child comfortable.
